The life of a Millington Diamond engine begins as a batch of castings from Grainger and Worrell, a local Bridgnorth based foundry, known as one of Europe's leading rapid prototyping and low volume casting companies.

The life of a Millington Diamond engine begins as a batch of castings from Grainger and Worrell

Each casting is x-rayed and given a certificate before arriving at Millington's machine shop. Some parts are made from solid cube or round bar.

Manufacting castings

Castings are put through a number of specialist processes before becoming the finished product.

Ports and chambers are machined using the latest 5 axis surface machining techniques.

CNC

Most of the components used in a Millington engine are manufactured in house using either conventional milling methods or by using some of the latest CAD CAM techniques.

Other capabilities include vibratory super finishing, bore honing, line boring, line honing, surface grinding and spark erosion.
