New Engines

The Millington Diamond is a 4 cylinder, 16 valve engine but unlike other naturally aspirated competition units, the Diamond Series is a purpose built performance engine. Where as high production, road biased engines are heavily modifyed to extract every last unit of power, the Diamond generates a tremendous spread of torque.

The Diamond is in a constant process of evolution, ever since the first diamond was produced in 1990, different variations have been relentlessly tried and tested in order produce a lightweight, reliable performance engine.

The Millington Diamond Series II can be supplied in variants from 2.0 Litre to 2.8, tarmac, gravel, cross country rally, Circuit or hill climb spec and is M.S.A eligible and approved.  Every engine weights in at around 83kg undressed.

To keep within M.S.A requirements, Millingtons do not focus on achieving the highest peak horse power as a selling point, but alternatively, compromise peak power for drivability and spread of torque. Whereas producing a naturally aspirated engine with a very high peak power is impressive, it is less in keeping with M.S.A requirements.

Millingtons do produce 'ultimate power' unrestricted engines if required, only if suited to the M.S.A requirements of the class it will be running in. Typically in rallying 2.5L is the limit for the Millington engine. 

Millington engineering Ltd do not offer warranty on new engines but may contribute to the restoration of the product depending on the nature of the circumstances.

Capacities range from 2000cc - 2808cc.

  • Maximum Torque: 255-268 LB-FTs (depending on rolling road and installation)

2.8L (2808cc)

  • Maximum BHP: 340-375 (depending on rolling road and installation)
  • Maximum Torque: 285-300 LB-FTs (depending on rolling road and installation)
  • Weight: 85KGs (undressed)
